APC’s Dayo Faduyile Wins Ondo South Senatorial By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Dayo Faduyile, as the winner of the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election in Ondo State.

The Returning Officer for the election announced that Faduyile secured a total of 68,474 votes to emerge victorious in the keenly contested poll.

According to the official results released by INEC, Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) polled 1,411 votes to finish second, while Adesanya Olaoluwa of the Action People’s Party (APP) garnered 213 votes.

Declaring the result, INEC stated that Faduyile, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of valid votes cast, was duly elected as the Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District.

The by-election was conducted to fill the vacant Senate seat for the district, with voters across the six local government areas of Ondo South participating in the exercise.

Political stakeholders and observers described the election as peaceful, while INEC commended electoral officials and security agencies for their roles in ensuring a smooth voting process.

Faduyile will now represent Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, strengthening the APC’s representation in the Senate.
