The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has formally forwarded an appeal lodged by Edo Queens FC against a decision of the CAF Organizing Committee for Women’s Football concerning the WAFU Zone B qualifying tournament for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.

The NFF, in a letter dated September 28, 2026, addressed to the President of the CAF Appeals Board in Egypt, confirmed that it had received and forwarded Edo Queens’ appeal against the decision relating to the final match between Edo Queens FC and Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC.

According to the letter signed by NFF Deputy General Secretary, Emmanuel Edem Ikpeme, Ph.D., MON, the appeal was received by the federation on September 26, 2026.

The NFF stated that Edo Queens had paid the necessary fees required for the processing of the appeal in accordance with the applicable regulations.

“Please find attached herewith the said appeal and the evidence of payment for your guidance,” the federation stated in the letter to the CAF Appeals Board.

The development means the matter has now been formally placed before the CAF Appeals Board for consideration.
Edo Queens had reached the final of the WAFU Zone B qualifying tournament for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League, where they faced Ghanaian side Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

The NFF’s correspondence did not disclose the specific grounds of the appeal or the relief being sought by Edo Queens, leaving those details to the appeal documents submitted to the CAF Appeals Board.
