The Chairman of the Accord Party in Osun State, Pastor Victor Akande, has declared that the people of Osun State are ready to re-elect Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, citing the administration’s performance and commitment to the welfare of residents.

Akande made the remarks on Friday, June 19, 2026, while speaking as a guest on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Guest Platform held at the NUJ Press Centre in Osogbo.
According to him, Governor Adeleke has performed creditably since assuming office and has continued to implement policies and programmes that positively impact the lives of the people. He noted that the governor’s achievements have earned him the support of many residents across the state.

The Accord Party chairman stated that his party is fully behind Adeleke and believes he deserves a second term in office to consolidate on the gains recorded by his administration.

Speaking on what Osun residents should expect if the governor is re-elected, Akande said Adeleke’s second term would place greater emphasis on youth development and industrialisation. He explained that the administration would focus on creating more opportunities for young people, attracting investments and industries to the state, and expanding economic activities that would generate employment and improve living standards.

He further described Governor Adeleke as a committed leader who has consistently worked for the progress of Osun State and remained dedicated to the welfare of the people throughout his administration.

Akande also alleged that opposition elements in the state had been responsible for the destruction of Accord Party billboards in various locations across Osun State. However, he maintained that such actions would not influence the political decisions of residents or weaken support for Governor Adeleke.

“The destruction of our billboards will not change the minds of the people of Osun State,” he said, expressing confidence that voters would continue to support leaders based on performance and delivery of democratic dividends.

He reiterated that the Accord Party remains committed to working for the development of Osun State and pledged the party’s continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people.

Akande expressed optimism that Governor Adeleke would secure another term in office, insisting that the people of Osun State are prepared to reward what he described as effective governance with renewed electoral support.
