Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria(BON) Commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR On Successfully Rescue Of Kidnapped Pupils And Teachers In Oyo State.
The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) has welcome with great excitement, the news of the successful rescue of school children and teachers who were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The entire security apparatus of the country deserves commendation for demonstrating a high level of operational competence during this rescue mission. We salute the bravery and professionalism of our nation’s gallant officers.
BON congratulates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his exemplary political will, and commends Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Oyo State for their diligent cooperation with security agencies, which was instrumental to the success of the operation.
BON called on the leadership of the Nigerian Military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies to sustain the strong inter-agency collaboration that yielded this positive outcome.
BON believes that with sustained political will and adequate support for our military and security agencies, the scourge of kidnapping and banditry in Nigeria will be reduced to the barest minimum in due course.
It is our desire that the other children still languishing in kidnappers’ dens across Borno and other northern states will soon be freed and safely reunited with their families and communities.
He joined the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) in 1993 as a Transmission Director/Cameraman and has grown to become one of the organisation's leading news and media personalities.
He is a former two-term Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Osun State Chapter, and served as Honorary Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, from 2023 to 2026 before being elected Chairman of the Council in February 2026.
Aboderin has received several honours, including the Osun State Government Award for Dedicated Service in 2021 and the Overall Best Civil Servant Award in Osun State in 2022.
An accomplished reporter, presenter, and editor, he holds B.Sc., Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He is happily married with children.
